DELIVERY OF THE EXPERT
COURTROOM TESTIMONY COURSE

 

The IAAI Board of Directors approved the recommendation of the CFI and T & E committees to allow Chapter delivery of the Expert Courtroom Testimony course. The pilot program, which will be re-examined in one year, will identify Chapter Facilitators for the presentation of the course on the Chapter level.

The IAAI will conduct Train the Trainer courses separately or in conjunction with the Expert Courtroom Testimony course delivered at the Chapter's locale. Expenses for the IAAI Facilitator will be paid by the requesting Chapter. After completing the Train the Trainer course, the Chapter Facilitator may present the course as often as desired without an IAAI Facilitator present.

Qualifications of Chapter Facilitators

* IAAI Certified Fire Investigator.

* Level One State/Province Instructor or equivalent.

* Chapter approval.

* Approval of Facilitator Application by Expert Courtroom Testimony Task Force.

* Successfully complete the Expert Courtroom Testimony, Train the Trainer course.

Chapter Responsibilities

* Provide appropriate classrooms, courtrooms, AV equipment and student manuals.

* Provide written confirmation of attorney instructors/ participants.

* Provide IAAI headquarters with copies of students final papers, evaluations, grading sheets and class roster.

* A $25.00 administration fee per student.

* A $200.00 annual Chapter Facilitator licensing fee.

* Reimburse the IAAI for expenses of IAAI Facilitator to locally train Chapter Facilitator.

IAAI Responsibilities

* Provide master copies of Student and Facilitator manuals.

* Issue Certificates to students.

* Provide Train the Trainer course to Chapter

* Facilitators at Chapter's locale.

* Provide Train the Trainer course at IAAI HQ, as needed.

* Provide Train the Trainer course at AGM, as needed.

* Deliver annual Facilitator updates at AGM.

* Provide updated manuals when required.

* Maintain database of students who have successfully completed the Expert Courtroom Testimony course.

* Provide a list of additional students to Chapter upon request.

The Expert Courtroom Testimony Task Force is currently accepting applications for Chapter Facilitators. A Memorandum of Understanding must accompany the completed application signed by a Chapter Officer. Proposal PO-015: "Testimony experience will apply towards points for obtaining CFI status." - Motion by Committee Chair Hankins, seconded by Director Doran that proposal be rejected. - Motion passed with 1 no vote recorded.
